COBRA Snipping Tool is a very simple, neat, small and straightforward screenshot taking tool. It only lets you capture a specific area of the screen or the full screen and save it to a PNG, JPEG or GIF image.

Since most other similar screenshot taking applications of nowadays offer a lot more additional functions and features, even for free, COBRA Snipping Tool looks rather unattractive. It doesn’t support uploading and sharing the screenshots online, it doesn’t feature post-capture image editing functions, and it cannot also capture the live screen activity to video files. Its current functionality is very limited, to say the least, and I’m really having difficulties finding the advantages and the benefits of this simple tool, if there are any. One of them would be the fact that this tool is free. Another is the obvious fact that this tool is incredibly easy-to-use. Its simplicity makes it suitable for being used even by complete beginners. Anyway, other than these, there aren’t other good things to praise about it.

Cutting long story short, COBRA Snipping Tool is a nice screenshot taking tool, very simple to use and provided for free, but it lacks a lot of features that the many other similar applications already offer by default.
